SALEM — Nicole Schmitz (St. Paul, Minn.) recorded a game-high 23 assists and added three aces as Southern Maine defeated Salem State in three sets, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-21 on Thursday evening at Twohig Gymnasium. The Huskies, who have won eight-of-their-past nine matches, improve to 13-5 on the season while the Vikings dip to 8-9.
Endicott College Golf
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – The Endicott golf team claimed the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Fall Qualifier on Thursday afternoon by 11 strokes over runner-up Western New England. The spring championship will be held at a site that is still to be determined, on Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30. The winner of the spring championship receives an automatic bid into the 2018 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
Endicott Women’s Tennis Loses
BEVERLY. – The Endicott women’s tennis team fell to Babson College, 8-1, in a non-conference matchup on Thursday evening at the South Campus Courts.
Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) picked up the lone win for the Gulls with a hard-fought 3-6, 6-4, 10-3 victory at No. 5 singles.
