SALEM – The Endicott men’s ice hockey team completed its regular season series sweep over Salem State University with a 4-2 victory against the Vikings in non-conference action on Tuesday night.day-logan-endicott

Trailing 1-0 at the 12:25 mark of the first period, the Gulls rattled off four unanswered goals – including tallies and the game-winner from Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) – to move their winning streak to eight straight games, and their record to 8-2-2 overall on the season.

Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.) tied the game at 15:57 of the first period, while Josh Bowes (Edmonton, Alberta) and Day found the back of the net at 1:37, 7:49, and 13:32 of the second period, respectively, for the eventual win.

Endicott’s Kevin Aldridge (Birmingham, Mich.) made 22 saves in the win (7-2-2), and Jason Pucciarelli (Newmarket, Ontario) stopped 33 shots in the loss (3-4-2).

BEVERLYThe Endicott men’s basketball team tipped of the 2017 calendar with a 76-67 victory over visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology Tuesday night inside MacDonald Gymnasium in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.

In a game in which they never trailed, the Gulls led cover to cover as Endicott placed four student-athletes in the double-digit scoring column, with senior guard Kamahl Walker (Worcester, Mass.) tallying a team-best 13 points.

The Gulls received 38-point effort off the bench to extend their lead to as much as 21 with 5:49 remaining in the game en route to their third straight win to remain unbeaten in conference play.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • 38 points from the non-starters is the Gulls’ second-most this season (41 vs. Curry on 11/30/16.)
  • Senior guard Drew Sawyer (Norwalk, Conn.) added 12 points, while senior guard Stephen Basden and freshman guard Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) chipped in 11 points apiece to join Walker in double figures.
  • Senior forward Daquan Sampson (Germantown, Md.) grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, while Basden and senior guard Max Motroni (West Warwick, R.I.) handed out four helpers each.

BEVERLYThe Endicott women’s basketball team snapped a four-game skid with a 78-57 victory over visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology Tuesday evening inside MacDonald Gymnasium to open its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) slate in 2017.

The Gulls scored a season-high 78 points, even though Endicott was up just 38-31 at the half.

A 26-point third quarter (matched season-high) created all the separation the Gulls would need the rest of the way as Endicott led by as much as 30 with seven minutes remaining in the game.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are 25-3 against the Leopards in the all-time series, including a 14-2 ledger at home and have won the past three straight meetings.
  • Endicott placed four student-athletes in double figures as junior guard Gabriella Coppola (Watertown, Mass.) led the way with a team-high 14 points, followed by 12 points apiece by junior forward Hannah Shaw (Bar Harbor, Maine) and junior guard Hannah Kiernan (Wenham, Mass.).

  • The Leopards led by as much as four with 7:48 to play in the first quarter.
  • Wentworth converted 13-of-21 free throws compared to Endicott’s 9-of-17 effort.
