Primary Election Day Today

Lynn Police Traffic Alert

Traffic Alert / City Hall Square/ Essex Street beginning Friday September 9th at 5 p.m.

Filming of scenes for the movie “Untitled Detroit Project” are scheduled to take place along Essex St. in the area of the Lynn District Court building this coming weekend. The filming will include scenes simulating the Detroit riots in 1967. There will be vintage police and National Guard vehicles staged in the area and the filming will include some simulated gunfire.

Traffic Control:
The following traffic controls will be implemented during the overnight hours on Saturday, Sept. 10th and Sunday, Sept. 11th:

Road Closures:
• Essex St. will be closed to traffic from Washington St. to City Hall Sq.
• Johnson St. will be closed in the area of the Mt. Olive Church to restrict access to Essex St.
• Sutton St. will be closed at Central Ave. to restrict access to Essex St.

No Parking Restrictions:
• No Parking restrictions will be implemented beginning Friday, Sept. 9th at 5pm and continuing on Saturday, Sept. 10th and on Sunday, Sept. 11th.
• These parking restrictions will be enforced during the overnight hours from 5pm until the following morning at 7am.

No Parking Locations:
• Essex St. from the intersection of Rogers Ave./Stewart St. to City Hall Sq. (both sides).
• Johnson St. from the Mt. Olive church to Essex St. (both sides)
• Sutton St. from Central Ave. to Essex St. (both sides)
• The rear parking lot for City Hall will be closed during overnight hours.
