Gloucester – Spring Water Main Flushing and Main Street Paving Start Monday

GLOUCESTER – Spring Water Main Flushing will begin Monday, May 6, 2024 during the evening hours from 6PM – 12AM for the next four to six weeks.  This unidirectional flushing program helps improve water quality by removing any sediments that may have accumulated in the pipes.  This important preventative maintenance program ensures we can provide our customers with the highest quality drinking water and maintain our critical infrastructure.

You may experience temporary low water pressure or discolored water.  If discolored water is experienced, runyour cold water for three tofive minutes.  Discolored water only affects the appearance of the water, it does not pose a health or safety risk.

If you experience water quality problems after flushing has occurred in your neighborhood, please contact the DPW Office at 978-325-5600.
