Moulton Statement on CBO Score of the Senate Health Care Bill

“Pushing through partisan bills behind closed doors isn’t just bad for democracy, it’s dangerous for our economy”

Washington, D.C. –  In response to the CBO score of the Senate health care bill, which estimates that the number of people who are uninsured would increase by 22 million by 2026 compared to the current law, Congressman Seth Moulton (MA) released the following statement:

“This latest CBO score proves what we already knew to be true: Senate Republicans haven’t offered a healthcare plan – they intend to rip healthcare from millions of Americans to offer a tax break for the wealthy. I’ve always said the Affordable Care Act isn’t perfect and that we should improve it in a bipartisan way, just as we did in Massachusetts. Pushing through partisan bills behind closed doors isn’t just bad for democracy, it’s dangerous for our economy. It’s time for Democrats and Republicans to come together and offer solutions that will actually fix our heath care system. I urge my Senate colleagues to reject this bill.”
