Tractor Trailer Driver Arrested for OUI after Crash in Milton

Massachusetts State Police Media Release—03162017—Tractor Trailer Driver Arrested for OUI after Crash in Milton

This morning at about 1:30 am, State Police from the South Boston Barracks responded to a tractor trailer rollover on the off ramp of Interstate 93 South in the town of Milton. Responding troopers found the tractor trailer on its right side with extensive damage and debris scattered across the off ramp.

An investigation by Trooper Christopher Johnson, determined that the operator, ERI PLEITEZ, 43 of Lynn, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the attenuator located at the beginning of the off ramp to Exit 10. PLEITEZ was not injured in the crash. Trooper Johnson determined PLEITEZ was operating under the influence of liquor and was subsequently placed under arrest.

PLEITEZ was transported to the Milton Barracks for booking on the following charges;

-Operating Under the Influence of Liquor

-Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle

-Marked Lanes Violation

PLEITEZ will be arraigned in Quincy District Court today.

Rt.93 was closed in both directions due to damaged overhead electrical cables.

Exit 10 off ramp remains closed for cleanup.

There is no further information available. Please do not contact the barracks directly for media inquiries.
