Men’s College Hockey

Endicott 8, Western New England 2 – Drew Lorinchak (Hamilton, Va.)Zach Mazur (Lancaster, N.Y.), and Ryan Willett (Bayville, N.Y.) all scored even-strength goals in the first period (6:09, 10:44, 11:01) and the Gulls never looked back in the contest. Willett also found the back of the net in the second period (1:19), while Michael Casey (Media, Pa.)Jimmy McIsaac (Winnipeg, Manitoba)Kevin Craig (Hyannis), and Jack Ring (Guilford, Conn.) buried one tally apiece in the third (5:10, 6:27, PP — 13:55, 17:13) to lock up the victory. In goal, Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) made 16 saves (8-5-3) in 51:23 of action to improve to 6-2-3 on the season (18-2-5 career).

  • James Davenport (Natick) dished out a career-high three assists.
  • The Blue and Green tied their season-high for goals (W, 8-1, vs. Salem State, 1/9/24).

Endicott (13-4-4, 10-2-2 CCC) visits Western New England (4-15-2, 1-11-2 CCC) Saturday at 7 PM.


Women’s College Hockey

Endicott 4, Western New England 3Samantha Fantasia (Billerica) sniped home a wrist-shot 11 seconds into overtime to propel the No. 12 nationally ranked Endicott women’s ice hockey past Western New England (WNE), 4-3, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) showdown at the Olympia Ice Center on Friday night. With 28 seconds to go in regulation, Maggie Holt (Cumberland Foreside, Maine) buried a shot from just inside the blue line to knot the contest at 3-3. In the final stanza, WNE found the back of the net twice (PP 7:28, 9:50) to eventually take a 3-2 lead. In the second frame, Mackenzie Graham (Billerica) answered with a snipe of her own (4:18) to deadlock the game at 1-1 with 16:23 to play. 35 seconds later, Quin Healy (Melrose) redirected a shot in the net from Payton Hansen (Spring City, Pa.) to capture a 2-1 edge.

No. 12 Endicott (15-4-2, 12-2–0 CCC) welcomes the University of New England (UNE) to Raymond J. Bourque Arena on Friday, February 9 at 7:00 PM.


Plymouth State 5, Salem State 2 – Salem State goalie Kaia Hollingsworth (Methuen) broke the all-time single-season saves record tonight, stopping 33 shots, but it wasn’t enough as Plymouth State handed Salem State 5-2 New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) loss on Friday night at Rockett Arena.  The Panthers improved to 6-16-0, 6-9, while the Vikings dropped to 5-15-2, 2-11-2.  Hollingsworth now has 660 saves for her career, beating the old mark of 653 set by Jenn Toussaint in 2015.

The Vikings will be looking to bounce back Saturday afternoon where they will remain at Rockett Arena to face the Castleton State Spartans. Puck drops at 3:00 p.m.
