Girls Soccer

Pentucket 3 Hamilton-Wenham 1 – Comments from HW coach Nancy Waddell, “The Generals got on the board in the 8th minute with a goal by senior Erin O’Shea.  The assist went to Megan Peterson who made a quick, long throw down the line to O’Shea.

Unfortunately the Generals allowed Pentucket to get on the scoreboard just one minute later on a goal following a corner kick.

The Generals had some good chances as the game continued, but three shots hit off the crossbar.  Early into the second half, Pentucket scored their second goal and the Generals couldn’t catch up from there.  Pentucket scored again at the halfway mark of the second half off a corner kick that the Generals couldn’t clear.

The Generals continued to fight and create many opportunities, but couldn’t find the back the of the net.”

The Generals (2-7-2) face Ipswich at Ipswich on Tuesday at 3:45pm.

Volleyball

Ipswich 3 Essex Tech 0 – 25-21, 25-21, 27-25 – Comments from Ipswich coach Kerri O’Connor, “Proud of our Ipswich team tonight playing with heart and raising money for breast cancer awareness. A Big thanks to all the families and fans who came out to support a great cause.  Lauren Kennedy served for 17 points with 9 aces.  Meghan O’Connor had 6 kills and Emily Davidson had 4 kills. Lilly Sheridan passed accurately as libero and our team overall met their goal of starting and finishing strong – playing with positive energy and never letting down.”

Note from Pentucket Athletics – Thanks & best wishes to Tom L’Italien who after 26 years as a Pentucket baseball player & coach is stepping down. We all wish him the best
