BEVERLY – The first-seeded Endicott men’s lacrosse team will host fifth-seeded Curry College in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinals on Wednesday, May 3 at 7 PM at Hempstead Stadium. 

THE MATCHUP/ALL-TIME SERIES 

Endicott won the only regular season matchup between the two squads, 20-11, on Saturday, April 15. Will Jennings (Danvers, Mass.) paced the Gulls in their then seventh straight victory with seven goals, four assists, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers.  

In the all-time series, the Gulls hold a 23-1 advantage over the Colonels. Endicott has won 23 games in a row versus Curry headed into Wednesday’s CCC Tournament semifinal round matchup. 

SCOUTING ENDICOTT: The Gulls rank fourth in the conference in goals (177) and assists (107), third in ground balls (619), fourth in caused turnovers (122), second in face-offs won (274), and fifth in goals against average (10.73). 

SCOUTING CURRY: The Colonels rank second in goals (225), third in assists (113), second in ground balls (642), sixth in caused turnovers (118), first in face-offs won (277), and third in goals against average (9.72). 

WHAT’S NEXT 

The winner of Wednesday’s CCC Tournament semifinal matchup will advance to the CCC Championship game on Saturday, which will be played at the highest remaining seed at a time to be determined later.


BEVERLY The top-seeded Endicott women’s lacrosse team’s undefeated run through the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) slate for the fifth time in program history propelled them into the (CCC) Semifinals where the Gulls will play host to the fifth-seeded Gordon College Fighting Scots on Wednesday, May 3rd at 4:00 p.m. at Hempstead Stadium.

THE MATCHUP: The Gulls (12-4 overall) defeated the Fighting Scots in the regular-season meeting by way of a 16-0 road shutout on April 25, 2017 in Wenham, Mass. last week to mark the seventh time in program history Endicott shut out an opponent and first time since the 2010 season. 

POSTSEASON HISTORY: The Gulls have qualified for the conference tournament each in the past 14 consecutive years, and 18 of the 22 years since Endicott became NCAA Division III varsity program in 1996. Endicott is in the hunt for its 10th CCC title and first under third-year head coach Morgan Maciewicz, who was named CCC Coach of the Year this season as the Gulls clinched the regular-season crown. The Gulls won nine straight conference championships from 2006-2014 and returned to the CCC Championship game last year after having its streak of 10-straight title game appearances halted in 2015. However, their quest for raising a banner came up short as they fell to Roger Williams, 16-7.

The Gulls’ nine-game win streak was snapped in the regular-season finale at Babson on Saturday, April 29th, with an 11-10 narrow defeat, but the Gulls posted a 10-plus win season for the 12th time in program history. To highlight the season, Endicott broke a program record for most goals scored in a single game with a 26-2 win at Wentworth on April 3rd. Endicott has scored 231 goals so far, which ranks ninth all-time in program history for the most goals scored as team in a single season. Endicott is led by five All-CCC First Teamers, including CCC Defensive Player of the Year Bella Rino (Northborough, Mass.) in goal and CCC Rookie of the Year Jennifer Lacroix (Wrentham, Mass.), in addition to three All-CCC Second Team selections. The Gulls are coached by Maciewicz and her two new assistants this season, Caitlin Cataldo and Jennifer Fox

NO. 5 GORDON (9-8, 3-5 CCC) |

Gordon stunned No. 4 Salve Regina, 13-12, in overtime in the CCC Quarterfinals on Saturday, April 29th in Rhode Island. The Fighting Scots are led by a trio of All-Conference student-athletes in sophomore attack Olivia McCarrick (Glen Burnie, M.D.), senior midfielder MC Aston (Greenwich, N.Y.), and senior midfielder Lindsey Congdon (Exeter, N.H.) in head coach Jane Ward’s first season at the helm. 

WHAT’S AT STAKE: The winner of Endicott/Gordon will have the right to compete for the conference championship  on Saturday, May 6th at a site and time to be determined against either No. 3 University of New England / No. 2 Roger Williams pending the results of the other semifinal game. The CCC Tournament Champion will receive the conference’s automatic qualifier into the NCAA DIII Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
