#1 Endicott Baseball Roles Over Suffolk (12-0) – Gulls Now 25-2 on the Season

EAST BOSTON  — The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated Suffolk, 12-0 (seven innings), in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Tuesday afternoon from East Boston Memorial Park.

WP (3-1): Nicholas Cannata (Marlborough, Conn.) — 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K
LP (1-1): Patrick Desmond (Hampton, N.H.) — 1 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

The Gulls offense exploded for six runs in a first inning hit parade and didn’t look back.

The early rally started with Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton) drawing a throw down on his steal of second, which allowed Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth) to trot across the plate for the game’s first run.

Two batters later, Brendan O’Neil (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) sent Notarangelo and Danny MacDougall (Taunton,) to the plate via a 2-run single through the right side of the infield. Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood) followed up with a double down the right field line to put two more runners in scoring position, who were each then brought in thanks to a TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) two-run triple to right center.

The Gulls followed up their big first inning with a four spot in the second. That rally was sparked by a Notarangelo two-run single and an O’Neil two-run blast to right, his team-leading eighth of the season.

Two more runs scored in the third inning thanks to MacDougall’s ground rule double to right center.

Nick Cannata put up another strong start for the Blue and Green, as he allowed no more than three baserunners for the second consecutive start, once again earning the win. Brady Stuart (Hudson) relieved Cannata in the sixth and tossed a scoreless sixth and seventh frame (five strikeouts) to lock up Endicott’s 12-0 victory.
