BOSTON – A Dominican national unlawfully residing in Lynn, Mass. was sentenced yesterday in federal court in Boston for illegally reentering the United States after deportation.
Yodenny Michael Baez-Cabrera, 42, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Myong J. Joun to 23 months in prison, to be followed by one year of supervised release. The defendant is subject to deportation upon completion of the imposed sentence. In July 2026, Baez-Cabrera pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien after being charged in April 2026.
Baez-Cabrera was deported from the United States on July 18, 2017. Sometime after his July 2017 removal, Baez-Cabrera illegally reentered the United States without permission. In 2015, Baez-Cabrera was convicted of felony assault with a dangerous weapon and witness intimidation in Peabody District Court.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and David T. Wesling, Acting Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston made the announcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Aidan Lang of the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
