Newburyport 8, Marblehead 1 – (MHS Notes) Marblehead continues to struggle at the plate and can only manage one run against a solid Newburyport team. Matt Mahan only allowed 2 runs through 4 but the Magicians could not give him any run support. Kiernan Moss came in relief and was cruising until the 7th when things went awry. The Magicians get no rest however as they host the Panthers of Beverly tomorrow at noon at Seaside Park.

Northeast at Saugus 10

Hamilton-Wenham 10, Rockport 2 – Green W 6in 5Ks 4Hs. Cote 3-3 3RBIs, Schrock 2-4 3RBIs, Heney 1-2 1RBI. Generals face Danvers next Saturday 4/20.

Manchester-Essex 4, Ipswich 2 – Next, the Hornets host Pentucket on Tuesday, 4/23 at 4 PM at Memorial Park.

North Reading 8, Pentucket 7 – The Panthers are now 3-2 and will be back home on Thursday morning at 10 vs. North East Tech.

St. Mary’s 4,  Showhegan (ME) 0 – Josh Doney (win) and Jacob Peterson (save) combined for a 5 hitter with 8 K’s while Rowan Merryman (2-4, 2 RBI) led the way offensively for St. Mary’s.

Pentucket 13, Westford Academy 11 – Pentucket boys lax team who trailed Westford Academy at the half and rallied back for a nice 13-11 victory! The Panthers will be back in action on Thursday, time and opponent TBD.

Girls Lacrosse 

Ipswich 18, Danvers 2 – 14 different goal scorers and 13 assists. The Tigers scorers were Halle Greenleaf (2 goals, 4 assists), Lyla Greenleaf (2 goals, 4 assists), Allie Wile (2 goals,1 assist), Estelle Gromko (2 goals), Lucy Winthrop (1 goal, 3 assists) Rory Regan (1 goal, 1 assist), Jayne Krause, Jade Wilcox, Avery Brown, Keira McPartlin, Ella Stein, Lucy Donahue, Taryn Desmond and Lily Cummins. The Tigers defensive was led by Emma Paquette (5 saves), Maddie Hanson (3 caused turnovers), Faith Hauenstein, Avery Brown, Jade Wilcox and Lucy Donahue. Great full team win for the Tigers!


Peabody High Girls Lacrosse – Congrats to junior captain Brooke Lomasney who broke the girls all-time point record today for Peabody. 257 points in just 42 games. Incredible accomplishment!
