ReWritten- Co-created and performed by Tom Truss and Matthew Cumbie
Sophia Gordon Center

ReWritten is an immersive multi-disciplinary performance that explores the often-silenced intimate relationship between authors Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville. Moving between their lives, work, and remaining letters, ReWritten reimagines an intergenerational queer love story that helped shape American literature. Through dance, live music, visual art, projection, and text, this performance questions what happens when we say no to dreams when we want to say yes.

Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl
Sophia Gordon Center

In the overwhelming quiet of the woods, six runaways from city life embark on a silent retreat. As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect. Filled with awkward humor, Bess Wohl’s strange and compassionate new play asks how we address life’s biggest questions when words fail us.

Students and anyone under the age of 18 are always admitted free.

Check out the complete fall arts schedule, a combination of events presented by faculty, students and guests artists.
