In high school baseball from yesterday
Gloucester 4, Beverly 3 (11 innings)
Masconomet 3, Peabody 2 – Pitcher Zach Ward struck out 9 for the Chieftains
Winthrop 5, Salem 1
Xaverian 4, St. John’s Prep 1
Lynn Classical 4, Malden 3 – Gavin Collins dropped down a squeeze bunt to bring home the winning run for the Rams.
Everett 6, Lynn English 4
North Reading 9, Pentucket 4
Bishop Fenwick 13, Cardinal Spellman 2 – Crusaders got home runs from Andrew Kiricoples and Odin Garron and pitcher Nick McFadden struckout 7 as they improved to 4-0 on the season.
In boys lacrosse: Marblehead 12, Danvers 8 – Will Kinahan with 5 goals for the Magicians
Swampscott 16, Gloucester 3 – Ollie Braham netted 4 goals for the Big Blue.
Hamilton-Wenham 14, Lynnfield 11
Girls lacrosse: Marblehead 15, Danvers 4 – Zoe Dwyer had 5 goals and 4 assists for the Magicians.
In pro sports, The Red Sox lost big to the Twins last night….13-6. Game two of the series is tonight at 7:40 in Minnesota. The Bruins, off last night, will host the Devils tonight. The Celtics will open up the playoffs later this week.

City of Salem

The City of Salem High School Building Committee invites members of the public to join one of two upcoming informational webinars about the Salem High School Building Project.  These sessions are designed to provide the community with an overview of the project and an opportunity to ask questions directly of committee members.

The webinars will be held on:

  • Monday, April 20, 5:30–7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 26, 5:30–7:00 p.m.

Each webinar will feature the same presentation, followed by a question-and-answer period. Residents may attend whichever session best fits their schedule. The presentation will also be recorded and made available online following the events.

Spanish and Portuguese interpretation will be provided at both webinars.
