THE 2016 TOPSFIELD FAIR

TOPSFIELD, Mass. (September 8, 2016) – The 2016 Topsfield Fair opens on Friday, September 30th at 1:00pm and will run through Columbus Day, October 10th.  Highlights include:

 

  • Expanded Convenient Parking – To help alleviate traffic on Route 1 during the two weekends the Fair will be running, the Essex Agricultural Society, the organization that operates the Fair, has purchased 23 acres of land to be used to park 600 cars.  Fairgoers who park in the lot conveniently located down the street from the fairgrounds will be bussed to the entrance using a dedicated lane on Route 1.  Parking will also be available on weekends at North Shore Community College in Danvers and Masconomet High School in Topsfield.
  • Giant Pumpkin Contest – An Opening Night favorite is the Giant Pumpkin Contest. Will anyone break the 2012 record which weighed more than a ton at 2,009 pounds?  Find out when the weigh-off begins at 4:00pm. A winner is expected to be announced by 9:00pm.
  • Free Concerts with Paid AdmissionThe Reminisants (Oct. 3) at 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m., North Sea Gas (Oct. 4) at 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m., Frankie Avalon (Oct. 5) at 7:00 p.m., Grand Funk Railroad (Oct. 6) at 7:00 p.m., and Brothers Osborne (Oct. 7) at 7:00 p.m.
  • Featured ShowsAXE Women Loggers of Maine (Sept 30 – Oct. 2), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Oct. 2-7), The Flying Wallendas (Oct. 8-10). Show times vary. Free with paid admission.
  • Wild & Wacky Emu Racing – Head down to Arena Road to watch the second largest prehistoric birds on the planet race to win prizes for fairgoers. Three shows on weekdays: 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. A fourth show runs at 1:00pm on weekends and Columbus Day.
  • Featured Arena Shows

o   Monster Truck Freestyle & Demolition Derby – Two Shows on Saturday, October 1st at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are $15 each in addition to Fair Admission.  Combo tickets that include the show and a Pit Party are also available for $20 each.

o   Imagination Movers – The Emmy-winning stars of the hit TV series seen worldwide on the Disney Junior Channel present their irresistible live rock ‘n’ roll spectacle that’s like a combination of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Blue Man Group for parents and kids to enjoy together.  Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 a.m.  Tickets are $15 each in addition to Fair admission.

o   An Evening with KC and The Sunshine Band – Get ready to “Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake Your Booty” as you sing and dance along to the many hits from KC and The Sunshine Band, a group that has defined dance music and forever influenced music with its timeless sound and mission of getting people out of their seats.  Saturday, October 8th at 6:00pm.  Tickets are $25 each in addition to Fair admission.

  • Discount Tickets

 

    • Admission tickets – good any day during the Fair’s 11-day run – can be purchased for only $9.00 per ticket online at www.topsfieldfair.org/tickets through September 26th or at the Topsfield Fair ticket booth located at the main entrance of the fairgrounds at 207 Boston Street in Topsfield through September 29th.  A three-day pass, good any three days, is available for $25.00.  The ticket booth is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on weekends from       10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

 

    • Discount admission tickets are available at more than two dozen North Shore cities and towns.  Businesses selling discount tickets include: Crosby’s Market, First Ipswich Bank, Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, and Winfrey’s Fudge.

 

    • Discounted ride tickets and food vouchers are only available at www.topsfieldfair.org and the Topsfield Fair ticket booth.  Ride tickets are available in strips of ten tickets for $24. Only one ticket is needed for most rides.  Multiple tickets are required for most rides when purchased during the run of the fair.  Some restrictions apply. 

 

  • Senior Citizen Day – On Monday, Oct. 3rd admission tickets for seniors (age 60 & over) are only $8.00.  This offer is only available on Oct. 3rd.

 

  • Military Day – Active members of the United States Military and their immediate families are invited to attend the Topsfield Fair for free on Tuesday, Oct. 4thThis offer is only available on Oct. 4th.

 

  • Tickets – Ticket prices for the 2016 Topsfield Fair are $11.00 each September 30, October 3-6 and $15.00 each on October 7, weekends, and Columbus Day (October 10).  Children under eight with an adult are free.
