In high school tournament sports…MIAA baseball and softball pairings were announced yesterday.

In tournament girls’ lacrosse…Beverly opened play yesterday with a 9-8 overtime win against Brookline. Sasha Miller scored the game tying goal and then the game winner for the Panthers.

In pro sports, the Red Sox shutout the Braves 8-0 last night at Fenway Park, …game three of the series is this afternoon at 4:10 p.m.

Our hearts are heavy as we join with Boston Fire Department to mourn the loss of Boston Firefighter Robert “Bobby” T. Kilduff Jr. of Rescue Co. 2, who gave his life in the line of duty following a fire in Dorchester last night.
