St. Mary’s Girls Basketball Falls to #1 Foxborough (65-34) in MIAA D3 Semi Final – Details Soon

BOSTON (Video – Photos) The #5 seeded St. Mary’s girls basketball, winners of three straight state titles, saw their 20-game playoff win streak end at the hands of #1 Foxborough in the MIAA D3 state semifinals Tuesday evening at UMass Boston. St. Mary’s had one lead in the game (1-0), but when the game ended Foxborough (23-2) advanced to the state finals this weekend with a 65-34 win over the Spartans (19-7). Foxborough is the defending state champions from a year ago in Division Two and returned their entire team from last season. The Spartans made a push late in the first quarter to close a (12-3) Foxborough lead down to 15-9 but Foxborough came out strong in the second quarter to build their lead to 13-points at the half (28-15)
