Saugus Police Arrest Man on Armed Robbery Charges – Four Different Locations

SAUGUS — Chief Domenic DiMella reports that the Saugus Police Department arrested a man yesterday for armed robbery at four different locations in Saugus.

ALLEN FREDA, AGE 55, OF SAUGUS, is charged with four counts of Armed Robbery While Masked.

On Tuesday, July 19 at approximately 9 p.m., Saugus Police executed an arrest warrant for FREDA after an investigation into armed robberies at the following locations:

• Speedway, 1252 Broadway

• Sheer Convenience, 183 Essex St.

• Lincoln Ave Market, 84 Lincoln Ave.

• Super Petroleum Gas Station, 1330 Broadway

FREDA was taken into custody without incident.

“This case is a fine example of strong detective work by the Saugus Police Department,” Chief DiMella said. “Thanks to the collaboration between the patrol and criminal investigation divisions, we were able to successfully take this suspect in.”
