SALEM CULTURAL COUNCIL SEEKS PROJECT PROPOSALS TO FUND!

 

Salem – The Salem Cultural Council (SCC) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2027 Grant Cycle.

 

Community-oriented arts, humanities, and interpretive science programs, organizations, schools, and individuals seeking funding to support cultural activities in the community of Salem MA are welcome to apply.

  • The grant cycle opens Sep 1, 2026
  • Proposals are due, via the online application portal, by 11:59pm on Thursday, Oct 15, 2026.
  • All SCC funded projects must be completed within the 2027 calendar year (Jan 1 – Dec 31, 2027).

 

This year, the Salem Cultural Council will distribute approximately $30,500 in grants. Previously funded projects can be found at https://massculturalcouncil.org/local-council/salem/.

 

Council Co-chair Ian McLeod shared that SCC just updated its guidelines and funding priorities for this grant cycle and encourages applicants to review those updates and align their proposals accordingly. He shared that  SCC grants will support a variety of art and culture projects and activities that serve and inspire Salem, MA, such as exhibits, installations, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies, school performances, workshops, and lectures.

The Salem Cultural Council is part of a network of over 333 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) and Tribal Cultural Councils (TCCs)  serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
