Over 40 groups have already signed up as deadline approaches; Family Field Day at Forest River Park set for July 12
SALEM – With more than 40 participants already registered and one week left to sign up, the Salem 400+ Heritage Days Parade is shaping up to be one of the most celebrated community gatherings in the city’s quadricentennial year. The registration deadline is 4pm on June 30th, and organizers are encouraging any remaining interested groups, organizations, or individuals to secure their spot before the parade fills completely.
The August 1st parade will wind through the streets of Salem, bringing together residents, community organizations, local businesses, and civic groups to honor the city’s remarkable 400-year history. With submissions already reflecting a wide cross-section of Salem’s vibrant community, this year’s parade promises to be a landmark event in the Salem 400+ celebration.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm from the community,” said Dominick Pangallo, Mayor of Salem. “Seeing so many groups come together to celebrate Salem’s 400th year is exactly the kind of spirit this celebration is all about. I’m grateful to City staff and volunteers from across our community for all the work and creativity going into bringing this beloved tradition to life to mark our quadricentennial. We want to make sure the entire community is able to come out to participate and mark this special occasion. If you haven’t registered yet, now is the time – we’re getting close to capacity.”
Parade registration remains open through 4 P.M on June 30th. Those wishing to participate can register at https://www.salem400.org/parade/. If you aren’t marching in the parade, come out on August 1st at 10am to cheer on your friends and neighbors. After the parade, the fun continues at Salem Maritime National Historical Park with a free festival from 11am to 6pm!
