Podcast: St. Mary’s Baseball Coach Derek Dana – Spartans (3-0) Play Next Week in South Carolina

LYNN (Podcast – Photos) The St. Mary’s Baseball team has opened the 2024 season (3-0) with wins over Milton (3-0), Archbishop Williams (8-1), and Bishop Fenwick (5-0). St. Mary’s finished last season (16-8) by winning 12 of their last 14 games. In this podcast interview Spartans coach Derek Dana (17th Season) shares notes on the first three games and also previews what is ahead as they will be playing teams from out of state next week in South Carolina. Fenwick Game – Great job on the mound today. Matt Lewis earning the W with 4 innings of 1 hit ball. Josh Doney picking up the save. Driscoll, J Doney and Weston delivering on offense. Demaino with a diving gem at SS to start the DP. Good start to season 3-0, Myrtle Beach Trip next up!

Archbishop Williams Game – Jack Zimmerman was outstanding in his first varsity start, going 5 dominant innings 9k 3h 1bb. Earning the win over Williams. Demaino, Driscoll, Paone paced the offense. Devin Duvall with an unbelievable catch in center! 2-0 To start the season.

Milton Game – Great way to start the season! Spartans pick up a huge win over Milton 3-0 behind a dominant performance by Josh Doney, 10k. Jake Peterson picks up the save. Offense led by Weston 2h rbi, Merryman rbi, Paone rbi. At Williams on Monday.
