NORTH SHORE (Podcast) The Salem News sports department is gearing for the naming of the 2023-24 north shore Salem News student athlete of the year. In this week’s podcast Executive Sports Editor Phil Stacey details several of the events that are happening this week that will lead to the selection of this year’s winner. Nominees are noted in the podcast and the number of nominees is increasing this year with addition of several Cape Ann schools. The sports writers also share a few preview notes on the spring sports season and also describe a few unique stories on covering spring sports in the past during some less than desirable spring weather.
