HAMILTON (Podcast) The Hamilton-Wenham boys basketball team (9-9) is coming off a 63-61 win over Rockport last night. The game was played in Rockport and it evened up the season series with the two teams (1-1) Rockport earned a road win earlier this season at Hamilton-Wenham (57-50). Additional Sports Notes from Hamilton-Wenham Athletics – Athletic Director Craig Genualdo

Wrestlers Kevin Spoon and Justice Bowers (who wrestle as HW Guests at Salem High School) qualified for the MIAA Division II Sectional Championships being held today. February 16th at Algonquin High School.  They earned their spot this past week in the Sectional Championships held at Burlington High School.

HW Cheer, who recently finished in 3rd Place at the Ram Rumble in Warwick, RI, will compete at Wilmington High School on Saturday, February 17th at 12:00 PM.

The Girls Swim Team had five individuals qualify for MIAA State Championships on Saturday, February 17th at 3:30 PM at MIT.  The participants are Katherine Reed, Sophia Novak, Hannah Powers, Ella Tran, and Ava Smith.

Gymnastics will find out early this weekend whether or not they have qualified for Team Sectionals on Saturday, February 24th at Algonquin Regional High School.  In the meantime, Julia Bial has qualified for the Individual State Championships on Monday, February 19th at Burlington High School.

Indoor Track competed in the CAL Championships and MIAA Divisional Meet over the last week.  Junior Georgia Wilson was named CAL Female Athlete of the Year and both Boys and Girls Cross Country teams earned CAL Sportsmanship Honors.  Individuals who qualify for the MIAA Meet of Champions on Saturday, February 24th at 10:30 at the Reggie Lewis Center will be notified after February 19th.

Boys & Girls Ski competed in the North Shore Ski League Interscholastic Championships this week.  Will Harrington was the overall winner of the Boys race.  Five skiers (Harrington, Cooper Bousum, Evie Bernard, Stewart Bernard, and Molly Ryan) will compete in the MIAA Alpine Tournament at Wachusett Mountain on Tuesday, February 27th.

The Girl’s Team finished the Regular Season tied for the best record (11-1) in the NSSL.
