North Shore Navigators Post Win on the Road in Portsmouth, 12-1 Over Seacoast – Navs Home Sunday

PORTSMOUTH, NH – The North Shore Navigators were led by the their bats Friday night in a 12-1 win at Seacoast against the Mavericks. The Navs, on a three-game winning streak, upped their record to 5-12 while the Mavericks dropped to 7-11. The Navs scored seven runs in the first two innings. In the first, Tyler Kapuscinski (Marist) started the fireworks as he reached on an error that scored Joey Pena (St. Thomas Aquinas). Nick Fuhrmann (Frederick CC) followed with a two-run double to right field scoring Nick Falkson (Tufts) and Kapuscinski.

In the second, Falkson hit a RBI double to right field, scoring Daane Berezo (Virginia Commonwealth). Later in the inning, Alex Brickman (St. Petersburg) hammered a three-run homerun to bump the North Shore lead up to seven.

In the third, Seacoast’s Christopher Kanios (Central Connecticut) hit a solo home run, bringing the score to 7-1.

Nate Rossi (Keene State) continued the scoring for the Navs in the fourth inning thanks to a RBI single plating Fuhrmann. Brickman added to the scoring in the fifth thanks to another RBI single scoring Falkson, and the Navs were up 9-1 after five innings.

The Navs added three more in the eighth to run away with the win. Brad Douglass, Berezo and Falkson each hit an RBI single in the frame.

Some notables include Brickman, who went 2-4 with a three-run homerun and four RBI.  Falkson (Tufts) went 4-6 with three RBI while scoring three times. Fuhrnmann (Frederick CC) went 3-4 driving in one. Matthew O’Connor (Umass-Lowell) pitched a solid game, going five innings while striking out four and earning the win.

The Navigators return home on Sunday as they face they Pittsfield Suns first pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
