North Shore Community College Names Beverly Resident Dennis Hicks To Lead “Student Engagement”

DANVERS – Dennis Hicks, of Beverly, has been named Director of Student Engagement at North Shore Community College (NSCC).  Prior to joining NSCC, Hicks served as the Associate Director for Programming, Student Involvement at George Mason University.

In his new role, Hicks is responsible for the supervision of four professional staff; advising Phi Theta Kappa, hicks-dennisthe international honor society for two-year colleges and Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success; overseeing the Presidential Scholars Program, and developing co-curricular programming opportunities on each campus.

Hicks has more than 15 years of experience working in higher education in the areas of residence life and student involvement. He is a member of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) – College Student Educators International, where he serves on the Coalition for LGBT Awareness as the Director for Marketing and Communications.   He is also an artist and enjoys drawing, photography, and freelancing as a graphic designer.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, Hicks received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art Education from Marshall University as well as a Master of Arts in Counseling/Student Affairs from the same institution.
