Newburyport Police to Provide Free Holiday Dinners to Residents In Need

NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray announces that the Newburyport Police Department will provide multiple free dinners to community members in need this holiday season.

Through a donation from the Newburyport Howard Benevolent Society, police are working with the city’s youth services to deliver several complimentary dinners to seniors and families with limited income over the next couple months.

Interested residents who sign up with the police department will receive a free dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 23.

The Thanksgiving meal will serve a family of four that includes a turkey and all the fixings.

“This holiday season we wanted to bring the community together and do something special for of our residents in need by providing them with free, festive dinners,” City Marshal Murray said. “We are asking that anyone who would like to receive a meal to please contact the Newburyport Police Department.”

Residents interested in receiving a Thanksgiving dinner should contact Officer Dani Michalek by Nov. 20 at 978 462-4411 ext. 1060.
