| NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray reports that the Newburyport Police Department has made an arrest after a man was allegedly seen breaking into a motor vehicle. |
| RYAN F. LAVALLEY, AGE 27, OF SALISBURY was arrested Monday evening and charged with Breaking and Entering into a Vehicle During the Nighttime to Commit a Felony. |
| On Monday, at 11:30 p.m., Officers Michael Wilichoski and Shawn Eaton were dispatched to a location on Strong Street for a report of a motor vehicle break-in. Upon arrival, officers were given a description of a suspect seen rummaging through a parked BMW. Officer Wilichoski soon located a man matching the description given to police, later identified as LAVALLEY. After an investigation on scene, LAVALLEY was arrested. |
| Marshal Murray praised the diligence of residents who saw something suspicious and immediately called the police. |
