Methuen Police Arrest Juvenile for Second Written Threat Against High School

ETHUEN — Police Chief Joseph Solomon reports that the Methuen Police Department today arrested a 15-year-old student after he allegedly wrote a threatening message on a piece of paper, which was found by a staff member.

A non-specific threat was found written on a piece of paper in a lavatory on Thursday morning. School officials quickly determined who was allegedly responsible, questioned the student, and called in police, who arrested him.

As a result of the investigation, a JUVENILE MALE, AGE 15, OF METHUEN was arrested and charged with Communication of a Bomb Threat.

He will be arraigned in juvenile court.

The Methuen Police Department does NOT believe that today’s incident is at all connected to yesterday’s threat against Methuen High School or any of the other threats made against Massachusetts high schools over the past two weeks. Yesterday’s incident remains an open and ongoing investigation.
