Merrimack Valley Sports Desk: Brooke Tardugno Methuen Softball – Andover Little League – Sale of LeLacheur Park

Merrimack Valley Sports Desk

Sports talk with Nick Curcuru and Dom Nicastro

– This week on the Merrimack Valley Sports Desk, we interview Brooke Tardugno of Methuen High School softball. Brooke was a Boston Herald All-Scholastic for her Division 1 state semifinalist softball team. Brooke played shortstop and batted leadoff and was a consistent player for Methuen all season. Her older sister Stephanie Tardugno was part of the 2019 Methuen state finalist softball team and was also a tremendous student-athlete.
— We also wrap up talk of Little League all-stars, with Andover falling in the Section 4 Sweet 16 after losses to Gloucester, Peabody West and champion Reading. Winning District 14 and being one of the final 16 teams left in Massachusetts Little League is no small feat.
— And finally, we discuss the sale of Lowell’s LeLacheur Park from the city of Lowell to the UMass Building Authority for $1 million. In the deal, ownership of the stadium will eventually go to UMass Lowell. How will this affect high school baseball tournament games in Lowell at the tremendous venue? Time will tell all
