Manchester Fire Department is proud to share that, for the first time, we are donating surplus SCBAs to support firefighters in need around the world.
These packs—recently replaced thanks to a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)—have been deemed surplus by the Select Board and will now be given a second life protecting firefighters in resource-limited countries.
We are grateful to partner with Global Gear Initiative (GGI) to help make this possible and ensure the equipment reaches those who can truly benefit from it. New England FOOLS played a vital role in spreading the word in this area, and Ipswich Fire for being the collection point.
This effort reflects the core values of the fire service—supporting one another not just locally, but across the globe. We’re proud to play a small part in strengthening firefighter safety and capabilities in other areas of the world.
