SWAMPSCOTT – Lynn English football took a major step today in their efforts to win the Northeastern Conference Tier 3 football title. The Bulldogs 5-0, 2-0 handed the Big Blue their first loss in tier play 4-1, 2-1.
Lynn English at the half, 22-0. Quarterback Matt Severance threw two first half TDs to Jaun Avelino (19 yards) and Prince Brown (35 yards). Ishmile Bangura scored the game’s first TD on a six yard run. Bangura would also score the games last touchdown in the 4th quarter on a 3 yard run. Matt Severance rushed for a third quarter TD on a one yard keeper. Dylan January scored Swampscott’s only touchdown in the 4th quarter on an eight yard run. Swampscott will play in Revere this coming Friday while Lynn English will host Salem at Manning Field in Lynn. We expect to post the video telecast of today’s game Sunday morning, in this post.
