MSO Radio OnDemand: Sofia Gadbois on Greg Verga’s Unfinished Music

GLOUCESTER – Sofia Gadbois is a local original artist, vocalist and stage talent.  She grew up on Little River here in Gloucester. She is a graduate from Ipswich High School and competed in MMEA District and All States Choir.
While some of you may recognize her as the quiet girl who serves you popcorn at Cape Ann Cinema, she has shared the stage with many of your favorite local musicians and actors. She has studied with John Hyde, Renee Dupuis, Jeff Patch and Kim Blissard. She was a featured guest singer at the Unitarian Universalist Church Community Awards.  In 2015, She starred as Wendy in the Annisquam Village Players production of Peter Pan and alongside her father, as Hooglietta, the competent daughter of the impossibly lost Hooglio.
She is in her third year as a Jazz Vocal Student at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montreal, where she also studies Psychology and Music Business.  Her first EP Songs I Wrote on the River was recorded at Bang-a-Song Studios in Gloucester, and includes musical contributions by Fly Amero, Joe Cardoza, Renee Dupuis, Leo Ciaramitaro and her father, Rick Gadbois. It’s available for sale at sofiagadbois.bandcamp.com
