High School Hockey Broadcast OnDemand – Lynnfield 5 Gloucester 4 – George DeRoche Game Winning Goal with 11 Seconds to Play – Fishermen Eliminated from State Tournament Consideration

 

GLOUCESTER – Tonight, the Lynnfield High School Pioneers (10-8-2) defeated the Gloucester High School Fishermen (8-9-1)  at the Talbot Rink in the regular season finale for both teams.  Gloucester’s loss elimiated the Fishermen from the state tournament.  Lynnfield’s sophomore forward George DeRoche scored two goals in the third period, the second tally with 11 seconds remaining in the game, to put the game in the “W” column for the Pioneers.  Gloucester was skating for the second game in two nights, with several of its starters ineligible due to rule/school/legal violations

Lynnfield led 2-1 after 1; the game was knotted at 3 after 2 periods, before the Pioneers took a 2-1 advantage in the third period.
