High School Indoor Track: Ipswich Finishes Strong at State Relays

The Boys Indoor track team placed 3rd out of 42 teams at the MSTCA State Relays on Saturday with a total of 32 points. The hurdle relay team of James Robie, Keith Townsend, Thomas O’Connell and Brian Milano won with a time of 29.44. The high jump team of Robie, Townsend and Paul Wertz placed second overall, with a total height of 4.98 meters, the sprint medley relay team of Wertz, Milano, Peter Bauman and Colin Hansen also took second with a time of 3:51.05. The 4X400 relay team Wertz, Hansen, Milano and Townsend took third overall with a time of 3:40.26. The boys shot put team of Bauman, Max Somers and Tre Graney took 10th overall.

The Girls Indoor track team finished 4th out of 42 teams with a total score of 24 points. The girls 4X200 relay team of Colby Filosa, Chloe Pszenny, Olivia Novello, and Lucy Harmon placed first with a season best time of 1:52.96. The 4X400 team of Filosa, Pszenny, Amelia Mooradd, and Linde Ruitenberg took second with a season best time of 4:19.86. The hurdle relay team of Novello, Ruitenberg, Faith DeBoer, and Jane O’Connell took third with a time of 33.65, and the girls long jump team of Mooradd, Novello, and Harmon took ninth overall.
