Gloucester Police Investigating Pair of Armed Robberies

GLOUCESTER 一 Chief Edward G. Conley reports that the Gloucester Police Department is investigating two armed robberies on consecutive days.
On Sunday, July 10, at approximately 4:31 p.m., Gloucester Police responded to Yellow Sub, 73 Pleasant St. for a report of an armed robbery. Following an on-scene investigation, detectives determined that a male suspect entered the store and showed a machete.
Today, at 10:47 a.m., Gloucester Police were dispatched to the Speedway gas station at 354 Main St. for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect was described as a white male, who was approximately 5-feet-7-inches tall with a slim build and wearing a black bandana covering his face. The suspect allegedly displayed a firearm and demanded money and cigarettes from an employee before fleeing on foot.
The investigation into both incidents remains ongoing at this time. Gloucester Police cannot definitively say whether there is any connection between the two robberies at this stage of the investigation.
