The Gloucester Times is reporting today on their Manchester-Essex Athletes of the Year. The Male Athlete of the Year is football standout Zach Hurd. The Female Athlete of the Year is field hockey star Abby Kent. This fall, Hurd will be attending Bates College while Kent will be attending Holy Cross.

The North Shore Navigators lost 6-1 last night to the Sanford Mariners. The Navs wrap up the regular season tonight in Vermont against the Mountaineers.

The Red Sox concluded a three game series with the Athletics last night with a 5-4 win. Tonight, the Red Sox continue on the west coast against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. (Game time – 10:10 p.m.)
