NEED TO KNOW: Saturday’s matchup will mark just the second-ever meeting between Endicott and Bridgewater State. In the only meeting in the all-time series, the Bears defeated Endicott, 20-14, on September 15, 2012 in Bridgewater, Mass.

ENDICOTT (STATS): Last season, the Gulls strived on the road posting a 4-1 record away from Hempstead Stadium. Endicott will look to build upon that record on Saturday, but will face a tough task in that quest against a Bridgewater State team that has compiled an 8-2 record at home over the last two seasons.

YOUTH MOVEMENT: Endicott’s lineup will feature both the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Week selections from the Commonwealth Coast Football league this Saturday in Anthony Whiteley (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Sam Opont (Bridgeport, Conn.), respectively. As it stands now, 75-percent of the Gulls’ 2017 roster is made up of freshmen and sophomores. That group, along with some key veterans, will be heavily involved in the gameplan, similar to last week.

BRIDGEWATER STATE (STATS): The Bears enter week two of the season coming off of a 20-19 loss to Buffalo State to begin the year. In that contest, Bridgewater State held a 19-14 lead early on in the third quarter (10:58), but Buffalo State responded in the fourth with a touchdown (plus 2pt conversion) with 6:58 remaining and some stout defense to come away with the victory.
An even contest throughout, the Bears produced 228 yards of total offense (62 plays, 158 yards passing, 70 yards rushing, 25:48 time of possession) and also limited Buffalo State to 231 yards of total offense. Expect a similarly balanced game from Bridgewater State this Saturday.

WHAT’S NEXT
After Saturday’s matchup against Bridgewater State, the Gulls will visit MIT on Saturday, September 16 at 1 PM.
