Endicott College Football Picked 3rd in League Pre-Season Poll – Season Opens September 3rd

BEVERLY  – The Endicott football team was picked third in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Preseason Poll earlier today, as selected by the league’s eight head coaches.

Endicott received 50 points (one first place vote) to finish third behind reigning NEFC champion Western New England University (59 points, 5 first place votes), and No. 2 ranked Salve Regina University (56 votes, 2 first place votes).

The Gulls, who earned an additional nine points in comparison to last year’s NEFC Preseason Poll, were ranked fourth or higher on every ballot this fall.

Meanwhile, Curry and MIT tied for fourth place (31 points each), while Coast Guard Academy was sixth (30). Maine Maritime Academy followed in seventh (20) and Nichols rounded out the conference in eighth (12).

Endicott (5-5, 5-2 NEFC in 2015) opens up its 2016 slate against six-time defending Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) champion Framingham State on the road at 12 p.m. on September 3.
