Endicott College Football Opens League Play on Saturday vs. Nichols – Homecoming – Video Interview With Coach DeWall

BEVERLY –  (Video) The Endicott football team (0-3) opens up New England Football Conference (NEFC) play this Saturday versus Nichols College (2-1) at 12 p.m. at Hempstead Stadium as part of Homecoming Weekend.

NEED TO KNOW: Endicott holds an 11-2 record in the all-time series versus Nichols, which includes an eight-game winning streak headed into Saturday’s matchup. During that winning streak, the Gulls have outscored the Bison, 324-95, and compiled 50 or more points in three of those eight contests.

ENDICOTT (STATS): The Gulls check into Saturday’s game ranked No. 1 in the country in blocked kicks with four, and their kickoff return defense ranks No. 51 in the country. Freshman corner back Jesse Simoni (East Greenbush, N.Y.) leads the squad with a pair of blocks, while Grayson Maddux (Park City, Utah) and William Rivera (Orangeburg, N.Y.) have one block apiece.

NICHOLS (STATS): The Bison have won their last two games headed into this weekend’s conference showdown with Endicott. Nichols has defeated Anna Maria (22-7) and Becker (16-13) so far this season marking the first time the Bison have gone at least 2-1 in their first three games to begin a campaign since 2008. Nichols currently ranks fourth in the conference in points allowed per game at 18.0 and fifth in yards allowed per game (356.3).
