NEWBURYPORT – The Essex Tech Hawks (8-6-1) defeated the Triton Vikings (8-8-0) Saturday by a score of 3-2 with junior forward Jaydan Vargas providing all the scoring for the winners. According to Essex Tech Coach Mark Leonard, the third line and others picked up the slack with several key players out sick.
At the moment, Essex Tech is ranked number 5 in the MIAA D3 Power Rankings, and Triton is number 8.
The next test for the Hawks will be on Wednesday, when they host the Winthrop Vikings (12-1-1) who are sitting at the top of the D4 Power Rankings.
