Born and raised in Gloucester, Muniz attended Gloucester Public Schools and graduated from Gloucester High School in 2019. During his high school years, he was an active participant in sports, playing hockey, golf, and tennis, and served as captain of both the hockey and golf teams.

After high school, Officer Muniz attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, graduating in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree. Following his graduation, he worked at the Essex County Sheriff’s Department before joining Gloucester Police. Officer Muniz has recently completed his field training and is now eager to make a positive impact and engage with the community he has always called home.
