In Memoriam: Carl Hens Beliard Remembrance Vigil – From Salem State University
To Our Viking Community:
We are sad to share that we lost a member of our student-athlete community last evening. Carl Hens Beliard, a freshman basketball player from Worcester, Mass. was set to begin his basketball career with the Vikings next week.
Please join the Salem State community today, November 2 @ 7:00pm in Twohig Gymnasium as the athletics department will be hosting a vigil service in memory of Carl. Please keep Carl’s family, teammates, coaches and friends in your thoughts.
Town of Newbury – Town Administrator Tracy Blais has announced that the Town’s administrative team has been strengthened with the hiring of two new employees.
Eva Pastor has been named Town Accountant/Assistant Finance Director, while Jon Temple has been selected as IT Director.
Pastor has worked for seven years as Junior Accountant for the City of Methuen, performing numerous tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. She previously worked in private-sector positions. Pastor currently serves on the Finance Committee in her hometown of North Andover.
Pastor holds an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Northern Essex Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Merrimack College, and a working toward a Master’s degree in Accounting, also from Merrimack College.
Temple brings eight years of private-sector experience to Newbury, working with a variety of internet technology companies on all IT facets. He most recently worked with Hornblower Group, Inc.
Temple holds Associate’s degrees in Information Technology and Computer Applications from Northern Essex Community College as well as related certificates.
“We’re pleased to welcome Eva and Jon as they take on their new roles,” Town Administrator Blais said. “Their experience will make them a vital part of our team moving forward.”
