SALEM — The Endicott College men’s basketball team defeated Salem State, 77-63, in non-conference action on Thursday evening at Twohig Gymnasium.
Jalen Echevarria (Lynn) led all scorers with 18 points (8-17 FG) to go along with five assists and five rebounds.
Mark Barrett (Brookline) filled the stat sheet with 15 points (7-13 FG), seven boards, six assists, and four rejections while, Jeff Hill Lynn) chipped in with 12 points and five dimes.
Parker McLaren (Newburyport) rounded out the list of individual highlights with a double-double via 10 points and 11 rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.
Tied 37-37 at halftime, Endicott seized all momentum in the second stanza following an 11-2 run to give the Gulls their largest lead of the game, 77-53 (22 points), with 7:59 left in the matchup.
The run featured back-to-back layups from Max Grenert (Beverly), a three-pointer and a one-handed breakaway dunk by Hill, and a two-handed slam by Barrett.
- Endicott holds the all-time edge against Salem State, 9-6.
- Grenert & Cam Keliher (South Hampton N.H.) tallied their first collegiate baskets in tonight’s contest.
- The Gulls dominated inside the paint outscoring the Vikings, 46-30.
