Hamilton-Wenham Volleyball – 3-1 win over Pentucket  – Report from HW coach Marc Turiano

The Hamilton-Wenham volleyball team pulled out a hard fought game on the road against a scrappy Pentucket Regional team on Thursday evening by a score of 3-1 (25-15, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22).  In a true team effort, every healthy player contributed on the court over the course of the game.

After the Generals cruised through the first set, each of the next three saw back-and-forth action all the way through.  The game was highlighted when Hamilton-Wenham clawed their way back from an 11-17 deficit to win the fourth set and the game by a score of 25-22, outsourcing the Panthers 14-5 down the stretch.  The Generals were paced offensively by their middles, junior Gabby Campbell (10 kills on 16 swings) and senior Kat Makogonov (4 kills), as well as senior setter Amber Scanlon (23 assists, 8 digs, 2 aces, 1 kill), and saw strong contributions off of the bench by senior pin hitter Sophia Roman and senior defensive specialist Lily Russo.
