In boys basketball from Monday night, Masconomet topped Beverly 58-55, the Chieftains are 14-1 and clinched the Northeastern Conference Dunn title. Swampscott beat Salem 58-52; Marbleheead downed Bishop Fenwick 70-40 on senior night in Marblehead as the Magicians qualified for the state tournament; It was Ipswich over Rockport 69-45 as Rex Satter led the Tigers with 17 points and they too qualified for the state tournament.

In recent highlights in north shore sports, in boys high school hockey, Gloucester blanked Beverly 3-0 on Saturday night. The Fishermen are now tied for second place in the Northeastern Conference with Danvers, both one point behind first place Beverly. Newburyport shutout King Philip 6-0 as Jack Sullivan scored three goals and goaltender Sean Murray made 24 saves in net for the Clippers.

In girls hockey Beverly topped Newburyport 4-2 as the Panthers were led by Grace Corbett and Meredith Johnston…each with a goal and an assist. Gloucester shutout Peabody 1-0 with Kaydin Cusumano getting the shutout in goal for the Fishermen while teammate Elliana Krawczyk got the game’s only goal.

Gloucester senior girls basketball standout Jordan Perdue-DelTorshio recorded her 1,000th career point Friday in her team’s 49-32 win over North Middlesex. Bishop Fenwick topped Archbishop Williams 56-47 on Sunday behind 20-points from Celia Neilson as the Crusaders now stand at 12-4.

The Celtics were off last night, tonight they host the Bulls at the Garde
