GLOUCESTER – Gloucester’s 2-0 lead evaporates as Gloucester and Lynnfield wind up 2-2 tonight. With 1 second left in the game, Fishermen captain Alex Enes hit the crossbar after he was sprung loose on a breakaway. A Dan O’Leary blast had tied the game for Lynnfield earlier at 8:44 of the third period. Liam Lyons had given Gloucester the lead with a shorthanded goal at 8:22 of the first period. Another Lyons goal 26 seconds into the second period gave Gloucester a 2-0 cushion they held onto until Billy Cole scored for the Pioneers at 7:48 of the third.
Lynnfield is off now until the tournament begins, while Gloucester finishes the season at home Wednesday against Somerville.
