TOPSFIELD FAIR TO HOST SIXTH ANNUAL RUN THE FAIR 5K ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2017
All Pre-Registered Participants Receive One Free Fair Admission Ticket
TOPSFIELD, Mass. (July 25, 2017) – The Topsfield Fair will be hosting the sixth annual Run The Fair 5K to help support the Essex Agricultural Society’s College Scholarship Fund.
The Run The Fair 5K will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. Race starts at 10:00 a.m. The race begins and ends at the Topsfield Fairgrounds, 207 Boston Street (Route 1) in Topsfield. The pre-registration fee is $25 and includes a t-shirt and one free admission ticket to the Topsfield Fair, valued at up to $15. Race Day registration is $30. All participants will enjoy refreshments and music after the race.
Check-in for the 3rd annual Kids Fun Run for children 10 years old and younger begins at 8:00 a.m. Race starts at 9:30 a.m. The registration fee is $10.
“The Essex Agricultural Society is the organization that runs the Topsfield Fair,” said James O’Brien, General Manager of the Topsfield Fair. “This year we awarded a record breaking forty-five thousand five hundred dollars in scholarships to high school seniors who are furthering their education by entering college. This doesn’t include thousands in additional scholarship money distributed by several of our departments, including bee keeping, rabbits, sportsman building, and many others.”
Entry forms can be completed and submitted at www.Topsfieldfair.org. Online registration is available for runners paying by credit card. Runners paying by check need to download the form from the site and mail it to Topsfield Fair, PO Box 134, Topsfield, MA 01983.
“The Topsfield Fair is all about traditions and with the Run The Fair 5K taking place for the sixth year in-a-row, it has become another activity that people look forward to each year,” said Lisa Colby, President, Essex Agricultural Society. “We hope to see many runners, walkers, and spectators on September 24th.”
Prizes will be awarded to the men and women with the fastest time in each of the following divisions: 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
