City of Salem – Manny Cruz
Great to to attend the grand opening of the @WHES_Salem new playground. Six years ago, as a school committee we were in the midst of creating our master facilities plan to improve and make accessible all of our playgrounds. We had a dedicated group of WHES parents from the PTO and playground committee who came before the school committee to advocate for an urgent renovation of the playground at WHES so that it could be a fully accessible and inclusive playground for all of our learners, especially our students with disabilities. I want to thank the school leaders, educators, parents, students and my colleagues who made this new playground a reality for the WHES community!
