Lynn Fire Department – 1060th transport company with another delivery of PPE. Because of deliveries like these, and new safety measures in place, only two members have been quarantined due to work-related COVID-19 exposure. Neither tested positive and have since returned to work.

City of Salem COVID-19 Response Update – April 14, 2020 

The City of Salem continues to advance measures to help slow the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), lessen impacts on healthcare providers responding to this evolving situation, and support Salem residents and businesses during this public health emergency. New Updates

  • The City of Salem has worked with the family of Vitalina Williams, the first Salem resident to die from the coronavirus, to establish a relief fund in Vitalina’s memory and for her family. All funds donated will go to support Vitalina’s family. You can donate online at www.salem.com/vitalina. 
  • Mayor Kim Driscoll and Health Agent David Greenbaum will hold their third public online Q&A about COVID-19 on Wednesday, April 15th at 7:00 p.m. Visit www.salem.com/covidqa to follow along at that time and ask your questions, or email your questions in advance to mayor@salem.com with “Q&A” in the subject line. 
  • The North Shore Pride parade and festival and the Arts Festival have been cancelled for this year. 

Status of Cases

As of 4:00 p.m. on April 14, 2020, 180 Salem residents have tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and four Salem residents have died from the virus. Since the outbreak began, 33 Salem residents who had been infected by the virus have cleared their isolation period. Additional data about Salem COVID-19 cases is below.
