City of Gloucester: Trash & Recycling Update – Week of July 28
The City of Gloucester is continuing to adjust trash and recycling operations in response to the ongoing Republic Services labor stoppage.
Recycling Drop-Off Site:
The temporary recycling drop-off site at the Department of Public Works yard (28 Poplar Street) will remain open Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
- Residential use only (no commercial drop-offs)
- Please do not arrive before 12:00 PM
- DPW staff will be on-site to assist
Residents are encouraged to help neighbors who may need assistance transporting recyclables, especially seniors or those without reliable transportation.
Curbside Trash Collection:
Trash pickup will continue on the regular schedule.
- Place bins at the curb by 7:00 AM on your usual collection day
- Crews have until 5:00 PM to complete routes
- Missed pickups can be reported via SeeClickFix after 5:00 PM
- Republic Services will return the following day to collect any missed stops
The City remains in contact with Republic Services and continues to monitor the situation. Updates will be shared as they become available. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.
